The sixties started with the birth of Daphne's second son, Keith Andrew who was born at Royal London Hospital on 6 May 1960, the same day Princess Margaret married Anthony Armstrong-Jones (Lord) Snowdon at Westminster Abbey. The following year, Jack her father passed away suddenly at the age of 60. In January 1963, the whole family moved to 8 Beckley House, Mile End. Her mother moved at the same time next door to No.7. Daphne lived at Beckley House for the rest of her life. It was at this time her son Raymond attended Stepney Jewish School, the same school both Sid and herself went. When Keith was 5 he also attended Stepney Jewish School. As both sons were now at school, and also attending the Stepney Jewish Club, she was asked whether she would like to volunteer helping at the club which she did. She remained volunteering for Jewish Care for the remainder her life (more than 40 years). During the late sixties she worked a few nights a week in the original all night beigel shop on Vallance Road. This meant having hot fresh beigels for breakfast every Sunday morning. 1969, started out on a happy note with the barmitvah of her elder son, Raymond, at Stepney United Synagogue on 4th January. Celebration took place the following day at The Viscount Suite, Bayswater, London. Unfortunately, shortly after it became one of the saddest and most difficult time of her life when her beloved husband Sid passed away on October 14, 1969 after a short illness.
