When the new decade arrived Daphne was 61, but had no intention of retiring. She continued to work for Research International until finally retiring in early 2002 at the age of 73. Early in 1990, her elder brother Joseph died leaving her very much alone with no living husband, siblings or parents. However, the same year she became a grandmother again for the 4th and last time, to Thomas, son of Keith & Sue. Fortunately she had good friends, and with no longer anybody depending on her, was able to live life to the full. With Raymond moving to Hong Kong in 1993, this gave her the opportunity to travel frequently to Hong Kong. On December 11, 1997 she arrived in Hong Kong from London, to attend Ray’s wedding to Vanessa the following day.
